The event welcomed 2000 students from 14 different schools across Blackburn & Darwen. The showcase was organised by Hive, Inspira, FutureU and DACA, and formed part of National Careers Week, increasing engagement with students, businesses and schools.

We held an employability skills workshop for a group of students from Blackburn College in their final year of study. Having decided not to pursue further education, the group were keen to pick up some advice on where to start with their careers.

Cummins Mellor Directors, aim to raise £3,000 for Blackburn Youth Zone’s cycle hub, as well as Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s 20th anniversary appeal. The mother & daughter team are cycling a 600-mile route through the French Alps, climbing over 56,600 feet.

Our crazy sock day raised money for The Christie NHS Foundation Trust treats more than 44,000 patients each year and has been delivering world-first breakthroughs for over 100 years. It has the UK’s largest chemotherapy unit and brachytherapy service.

On the 28th April the Cummins Mellor gang turned up to work in their best slippers, all to raise money for Guide Dogs for the Blind. Their dedicated staff, volunteers and vital donations have helped over 29,000 people to achieve life-changing independence.

Once again our fantastic Quiz Master was Chairman, Richard Mellor, who did a fabulous job of delivering the 10 rounds of questions to the teams. On the night we held a raffle in aid of Rosemere Cancer Foundation and raised a massive £360.00!

SLYNCS 4th annual dinner was attended by 220 guests and theme of the evening was ‘Bridging Blackburn’. Young people used their skills and talents to raise awareness around issues within their local area which cause a barrier to integration.
