As we continue to expand our business, we’re delighted to welcome Charlotte Hunt to the Cummins Mellor team as our newest Recruitment Consultant.

Get to know Charlotte better in our latest blog post.

What’s your name and role within the business?

Charlotte Hunt - Recruitment Consultant.

How long have you worked here?

Two weeks.

Have you had any interesting jobs in the past?

Yes! Before joining the team at Cummins Mellor, I worked at the most haunted hall in Lancashire.

Although I didn't see any ghosts during my time there, many visitors claimed to have seen the white lady roaming the grounds as she waits for her long-lost lover to return.

What do you like doing outside of work?

As I follow a plant based diet, I love experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen and making delicious dishes for my family to try.

My favourite recipe at the moment is a vegan chilli as I love comfort food in this cold weather.

What's your favourite thing about your job?

I love that I am constantly learning new things and developing my career as a Recruitment Consultant.

Having never worked in recruitment before, I am very grateful that the team is taking their time to teach me every aspect of the job and I have learnt so much in the past two weeks.

What's one skill you're working on at the moment?

I am currently working on my LinkedIn skills and growing my professional profile.

As a recruitment consultant, it is super important that we utilise LinkedIn to both market jobs to active candidates and also reach out to passive candidates for roles we currently have live.

What helps you to work at your best?

I work at my best when I feel inspired by those around me and can bounce off their ideas, I think it's vital that we work as a team to get the best from ourselves as individuals.

What have you done for the first time this year?

For the first time this year, I have attended a Blackburn Rovers match with Amy and Beth from the Cummins Mellor team. I had a great time getting to know the girls and spending time with them at such a fun event.

What's the last thing you watched or read - and loved?

A film I have recently enjoyed recently was The Outfit, a crime thriller based in 1950's Chicago. I really enjoyed this film as there were so many twists and turns and the acting was outstanding.

What's something people might not know about working here?

People might not know how hands-on our MD Katie is within the business, she has been training me (one-on-one) each week about each stage of the recruitment process.

I really appreciate her teaching me her invaluable knowledge within the industry.

If you could click your fingers and become an expert in anything, what would you choose?

I would love to become an expert in content creation and writing engaging posts that create a conversation and grasp people's attention.

What three words would your friends or colleagues use to describe you?

Spontaneous, reliable, kind.

What topic (work-related or otherwise) could you give a presentation on without any preparation?

I could give a presentation on my favourite TV show, Peaky Blinders. I must've watched the series 5 times over and learn something new about it each time!

I would love to do a character analysis on Tommy Shelby and how masculinity is presented within the show.

If you could swap places with anyone in the company for a day, who would it be and why?

I would swap places with Katie for the day, she has such a creative mind and I would love to experience what its like to make some of the important decisions for the company and am interested to see how I would handle some of those stresses.

Who would play you in a movie of your life?

I would have to say Kate Winslet back in her Titanic days when she has long red hair. I think she is an incredible actress and thought she was great in the Mare of Easttown TV show.

What's your favourite food?

My favourite food is Indian food, I have an Indian takeaway every Friday night with my mum and I love that we have this tradition each week.

What are you excited about in your job?

I am most excited about connecting with local businesses at networking at events in order to grow my client base.

What’s a mistake you've made in your career, and what did you learn from it?

The biggest mistake I have made early on in my career is not pushing myself. That is why I have made a conscious effort over the past few months to take every opportunity that comes my way.

What's your favourite way to spend a weekend?

I love to spend my weekends in Manchester, visiting my best friend. We usually go shopping during the day and then spend the evening trying new restaurants and going to local bars.

What’s a work-related achievement you’re really proud of?

My biggest work-related achievement is leaving my previous role in marketing and events at the start of the year, and securing this position at Cummins Mellor as a Recruitment Consultant.

I am proud of myself for taking the leap into recruitment and really excited to see where this journey takes me.
