What’s your name and role at Cummins Mellor?
I’m Amy Hutcheson, Principal Consultant at Cummins Mellor.
How long have you been here?
Nine years.
Have you had any interesting jobs in the past?
General Manager and Restaurant Manager working in the hospitality industry.
What do you like doing outside of work?
Having become a mum for the first time, raising my son and spending time together.
Also, open water swimming, yoga, walking, being a foodie, experiencing new places - city/country breaks.
What’s your favourite thing about your job?
No two days are the same!
What’s one skill you’re working on at the moment?
Finding the balance of being a new mum (for the first time) whilst pushing my career forward.
What helps you to work at your best?
Collaborative working with a brilliant team who are all striving towards the same goal.
What have you done for the first time this year?
Planned a wedding!
What’s the last thing you watched or read - and loved?
Rewatched The Last Dance.
What’s something people might not know about you?
I swam the English Channel.
If you could click your fingers and become an expert in anything, what would you choose?
Maths!
What three words would your friends or colleagues use to describe you?
Loyal, compassionate, and hard-working.
Which topic (work-related or otherwise) could you give a presentation on without any preparation?
Swimming the English Channel - training and the experience!
If you could swap places with anyone in the company for a day, who would it be and why?
Simon Dickinson, our Finance Director - I have an interest in numbers, so it would be an opportunity to learn new skills and empower the business.
Who would play you in a movie of your life?
Bridget Jones.
What’s your favourite food?
Pasta.
What are you excited about in your job?
Every day is different - there are always new challenges and an opportunity to learn and support great businesses in finding great people.
Personally, continuous learning to better myself.
What’s a mistake you've made in your career, and what did you learn from it?
Accepting a job for the money.
It’s company values, morals, and the people you work with - and for - that are most important.
What's your favourite way to spend a weekend?
With family and/or friends - walk in the countryside finished with a lovely pub meal!
What’s a work-related achievement you’re really proud of?
Being named Sales Consultant Of The Year.
