The Blackburn Youth Zone fundraising ball is an annual event initiated by Cummins Mellor in 2014 when we proudly hosted the Black and Gold Ball. Since then, the baton has been passed to fellow BYZ supporters to keep the event going – with each year seeing the bar being raised!
On 9th Feb 2017, the fourth annual Blackburn Youth Zone ball was held at Ewood Park and named the Skyball – with a Bond theme running through the evening.
The venue looked amazing, complete with Vegas Showgirls, Aston Martin, casino with Roulette and Blackjack, live band, magician, an auction and a raffle!
The event proved to be as action packed as any Bond themed event could be!
Some of the Cummins Mellor team attended the event to show our ongoing support of Blackburn Youth Zone and were proud to be part of an event which through the generosity of those attending raised a massive £30,000!
Who are Blackburn Youth Zone?
Blackburn Youth Zone is a 21st-century hub located within the heart of Blackburn, open exclusively to young people aged 8 to 18 years old. The Youth Zone aims to change the prospects offered to young people in the area. What is different about the Youth Zone is that they work in partnership with young people rather than on their behalf, allowing the Youth Zone to be led with the principle of ‘starting where young people are, going where young people take us’. Blackburn Youth Zone is open 7 days a week and offer up to 20 activities for its attendees each evening.
