Kate wins Temp of the Year Award 2009

 Kate Shorrock (26) of Blackburn was thrilled to hear that she had been nominated and successfully voted ‘Temp of the Year’ by East Lancs recruitment specialists Cummins Mellor Recruitment.

Representatives of the company visited Kate at her current place of work, Aircelle in Burnley, and presented her with High Street Vouchers, Champagne and a Certificate of Recognition.

Richard Butler (Programme Quality Manager at Aircelle) said;

“Kate has worked for me for the last 3 months and during this time has done various tasks for our department. Most important being the very responsible role of writing and submitting all major concessions to one of our customers Airbus on the A380 programme. Kate has done this by working closely with our colleagues in France learning how each concession must be written to satisfy the customer’s very exacting requirements. She has accomplished this with very little supervision. Her other responsibilities include maintaining a database of all Airbus major concessions and circulating a weekly report.

 I am very impressed with Kate’s ability to pick things up very quickly and complete all her assigned work in a timely and professional manner. In addition, Kate is a great team player and is always willing to help other members of the team where she can. She would be an asset to any company, but hopefully, she will be with Aircelle for the foreseeable future.”

Paul Armstrong (Operations Manager – Composites) added

“Kate is simply an excellent employee for Aircelle – nothing is too much trouble for her, she adapts quickly to new tasks and is a valued member of the team here.”
Angela Thomas, a senior recruitment consultant with Cummins Mellor Recruitment who nominated Kate commented;

“Kate has been a pleasure to work with over the last 12 months, she is a wonderful temporary worker and a credit to Aircelle and Cummins Mellor Recruitment.
Kate is a very efficient administrator; she is methodical and also goes the extra mile. Overall Kate is loyal, committed and I look forward to working with her in the future.”

Cummins Mellor Recruitment sponsors this award each year in recognition of the enormous contribution made by the temporary, interim and contract workforce. According to the REC (Recruitment & Employment Confederation), the temporary market in the UK is worth £24bn to GDP.
