Life After School

Cummins Mellor Chairman, Richard Mellor spent some time on 9th and 10th February at Blackburn Central High School speaking to the Year 11 and 12 students about Life after School.logo

After sharing his own story on his business ventures after school, Richard went on to explain some of the options available to school leavers.

Discussing everything from further education and apprenticeships to going directly into work, self-employment, volunteering and gap years, Richard was keen to highlight that each option would open up career opportunities to the students.

Richard was also keen to point out that just because they may select one career path now, this does not mean that’s what they will do for their whole lives. It may lead on to greater opportunities.

Passing on our knowledge to our county’s future talent is something we are incredibly passionate about and helping to prepare students for life after school and their many options is extremely beneficial to their futures and the futures of Lancashire’s businesses.
