Jodie’s Story

Daughter of Janet and Tyrone Morgan, born on 23rd July 1986 at Tameside General, Greater Manchester. I was a very happy little girl who would always try anything once. Tap and ballet at the age of 2, then my first horse riding lesson on my 5th birthday.

I grew up in Dukinfield, Ashton under Lyne, with my brother Gerrad (Ged) who is 2 years younger than me, and my mum and dad. My dad has always had his own business since I was younger, as a Tree Surgeon and Landscape Gardner. My mum has always worked around bringing us both us.

I worked hard at school, but wasn’t the most academic. I always enjoyed more practical subjects. Cooking, drama, art and PE as well as being part of the choir.

I left school at 16 and studied travel and tourism at Blackburn College. After about 6 months I decided that I wanted to go into full time employment. I worked as a full time waitress for a couple of years, then at the tender age of 18, I went backpacking around Australia. I worked in Sydney for a couple of months to save a little more money. Whilst is Aus, I did a 12,000ft sky dive, rode through the outback with cowboys and scuba dived on the Great Barrier Reef.

On returning from Aus, I joined the Ribble Valley Inns pub group and 1 Michelin Star Northcode, where I spent 3 years working front of house, on reception and organising weddings and events, giving me a wealth of knowledge in the industry.

I joined Cummins Mellor in 2008, wanting to stay within the hospitality industry but get away from the long hours, late nights and weekends.

Joining Cummins Mellor was the best move I ever made. I can honestly say I love my job.

I joined the company as part of the catering and hospitality team, as an admin assistant, learning the recruitment process for temporary and permanent placements within the hospitality industry. I was placing Chefs de Partie, Sous Chefs and Head Chefs across the country.

6 years on, with an office re-furb, re-brand and new office in London, I recruit within Lancashire and Yorkshire sourcing the best relief chefs for Rosette restaurants, hotels and gastro pubs. I love to dine out and I’m always taking pictures of my food and tweeting it, when I’m out and about with the Chefs Team.

Chefs Jobs Uk is a great place to work. I’m still working in the industry I love, but have a great work/home balance.

Customer service is so important to me, receiving excellent customer service as well as giving it. I’m very passionate about the industry and what I do. I enjoy speaking with chefs, hotel managers and restaurateurs.
