We are a busy, chartered accountancy practice based in Blackburn. Established over 15 years ago we provide a full range of accountancy services to small and medium sized businesses and have a loyal client base and an excellent reputation for service delivery.

Due to expansion, DPM Accounting Services Ltd are currently recruiting for a Payroll / Bookkeeper to join their payroll bureau team on a permanent basis.

  • 20 – 30 hours over 5 days, flexible start and finish time
  • £19,500 – £21,500 pro rata

As a Payroll / Bookkeeper your role will include;

  • To work alongside the Payroll Manager to produce an accurate and timely payroll for weekly, monthly and quarterly clients
  • Bookkeeping on QuickBooks and Receipt Bank
  • Process new starters and leavers
  • Process pension / auto enrolment
  • Assist with the production and distribution of management reports
  • Communicate with clients, client employees, HMRC and pension organisations
  • Assisting with ad hoc duties as per department and business needs

The ideal Payroll / Bookkeeper will have;

Essential Requirements:

  • A minimum of two years proven payroll bureau experience
  • Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook
  • A solid understanding of payroll, PAYE, pensions administration, attachment of earnings and statutory payments
  • Confident communication skills
  • Accurate data inputting skills and a high level of attention to detail
  • The ability to prioritise your own workload to meet deadlines
  • A team player mentality
  • The ability to work with sensitive data, maintain confidentiality and adhere to all GDPR legislation.

Desirable Experience/qualifications:

  • A working knowledge of BrightPay Bureau and BrightPay Connect
  • Training for bookkeeping will be given but experience preferred
  • Experience of Nest pension portal
  • A formal payroll or accountancy qualification
  • Proven knowledge of the entire lifecycle of payroll production from PAYE scheme creation to year end
