An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded, driven and motivated, Account Management professional to join a thriving, rapidly expanding, East Lancashire FMCG business.

A family owned, private company, our clients have been innovators and leaders in their field for over 30 years and now supply throughout the UK, Europe and the Middle East. Wishing to continue their pursuit to expand their market share across FMCG retailers, garden centres, DIY retailers and wholesalers they seek to welcome an experienced Account Manager to their sales team.

Offering a full training and induction programme to introduce you to their niche product range, you will benefit from working within an intimate and long-standing commercial team who all share in the organisation’s strategic vision for growth. You will also work closely with the board of directors in their ongoing commercial innovations and new product development.

The successful applicant will be an excellent communicator who thrives in delivering budgeted sales and profit through the acquisition and nurture of client relationships.

The business has seen impressive growth since its inception and is set to see continued expansion in the years ahead.

Does this sound like you?

  • I have a strong background managing accounts and experience working in FMCG
  • I have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in national accounts
  • I thrive on building excellent customer relationships
  • I am an excellent communicator; both written and verbal
  • I possess strong numerical skills
  • I am commercially astute with strong negotiation and presentation skills
  • I have a background in stimulating account growth

What will my new role involve?

  • Negotiating contracts, with accountability for delivering strong financial results
  • Performing weekly, monthly and quarterly analysis and reporting relevant management information
  • Attending and organising sales and account management meetings
  • Maximising business potential at existing and new accounts, particularly pursuing opportunities unique to each account in terms of marketing, merchandising, operations and new product development
  • Planning and carrying out agreed PR & marketing activities
  • Maintaining and developing existing and new customers through planned individual account support, and liaison with internal sales teams
  • Networking with contacts
  • Building excellent business relationships
  • Carrying out market research, competitor and customer surveys
  • Maintaining accurate databases, records and systems
  • Maintaining excellent internal stakeholder relationships
