My client is a family run company, based within easy reach of the M65 motorway network.

They have been established for 30+ years and offer asset finance to businesses. The company has grown significantly over the last 24 months, due to the continued growth of the asset finance portfolio, they now have a requirement for an Internal Sales and Business Development Manager.

The Role

Reporting to the Internal Sales Manager, the successful applicant will play a pivotal role in the sales & business development processes within the Company’s Direct team. You will take responsibility for ensuring that the good name and reputation of the Company is maintained by providing a market leading level of service.

You will be required to:

  • Build, develop and strengthen relationships with existing and potential Customers and suppliers to maximise sales opportunities
  • Work with management and colleagues, to identify new sources of Direct business through telephone and face to face discussions after an initial fact find
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Direct business opportunities, being responsible for packaging deals to be presented to the Credit and Risk team through effective file and meeting notes
  • Responsible for maximising new business opportunities from both early settlements and finance agreements that have recently ended
  • Promptly providing settlement quotes to Customers
  • Following settlement quotes, convert new business opportunities using the Customer Relationship Management System (
  • Identify and control a pipeline of finance agreements due to expire within the next 6 months and work closely with Customers to ensure awareness of such expiry, discussing and negotiating all opportunities for new business
  • Agree a disciplined calling strategy with Management
  • Comply with all credit policy and governance requirements
  • Ensure all finance documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Quoting customers and discussing different finance options including hire purchase & finance lease
  • Responsible for new business sign ups and all new business documentation from start to finish for Direct business
  • Build proactive and ongoing relationships with sources of Direct business, ensuring awareness of product offering and credit & risk appetite
  • Encourage comprehensive fact finds with Direct customers in order to understand future capital expenditure plans and funding requirements
  • Attend exhibitions and events promoting Haydock as required
  • Provide support to the Regional Managers to help achieve the Direct sales target
  • Undertake delegated tasks and projects as appropriate

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A detailed knowledge of finance and leasing
  • Some awareness of credit & risk
  • Attention to detail, able to demonstrate accountability and deal ownership
  • Sound communication and organisation skills
  • Be appreciative of the importance of, and the ability to, maintain good internal and external customer relationships
  • Be a team player with high self-motivation and drive
  • An Understanding of Money Laundering and Data Protection regulations (although training will be provided.)
  • A clean credit reference check and reference from previous employer may be required
