My client is a successful leader in their field, established for over 28 years, they specialize in administering applications with reference to drawings, maps and technical documents.

Cummins Mellor have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development / Account Manager to support the sales areas of the business by providing high levels of administration, account management and sales activities.


  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with existing clients and identify new opportunities
  • Regularly maintain contact with all current local authorities – on a Bi monthly basis
  • Foster good working relationships with clients, either through direct contact or in support of client needs
  • Remain current on all aspects of client marketing trends and follow up on marketing e-mails / e-shots
  • Scheduling appointments for Business Development Executives to meet with prospective clients
  • Contact other clients (district councils, NHS, private sector) to identify and gather commercial information
  • Optimizing conversations with clients by discussing initial requirements and provide solutions for all enquiries within an acceptable timeframe
  • Ensuring all communication with clients is recorded accurately
  • Working towards, and achieving, monthly targets

The ideal Business Development / Account Management must have;

  • Hold previous experience within a similar role
  • Ideally come from a technical, engineering, surveying or IT background (advantage)
  • Possess strong communication and negotiating skills
  • Be confident in making decisions and answering queries in a systematic way
  • Be able to multitask and pay attention to detail
  • Extensive usage of Excel, Microsoft Packages and ERP systems
  • Work well under pressure and deadlines
  • Have a logical, work-oriented, and analytical thought process
  • Be committed to upholding the company ethos and dedicated to their high standards
