Junior Business Development & Sales Executive, Accrington: £16,000-£18,000 DOE plus OTE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Business Development & Sales Executive to take on a permanent role within a thriving national business. This position is perfect for individuals looking to build a career in sales and develop their skills in this area. This is a full time role, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Personnel Checks is a registered umbrella body for the DBS and complete criminal disclosures for individuals and businesses across the UK. We now seek additional driven and motivated people to join our sales team to maximise our visibility within the marketplace. Your role will be to sell our advanced systems, bespoke packages and our high quality services.

The ideal candidate will have a polite and friendly telephone manner, the ability to build rapport with existing & prospective customers and must demonstrate the skills to promote, sell and forward the company brand. Previous experience in a sales environment would be desirable, but not essential as full training will be provided by our experienced sales team. Experience in sales, account management and customer service would be advantageous. You will be working from a number of different sources, including databases, an extensive list of current and pipeline customers as well as re-engaging former customers. You will be working alongside highly skilled and knowledgeable sales executives who will assist you and help develop your knowledge of this unique market place. Full training of the DBS sector will be provided. As a BD & Sales Executive your role will include;

  • Cold calling prospective customers utilising leads, databases and online resources
  • Identifying market opportunities and developing plans to capitalise on them
  • Responding to, and follow up on, sales enquiries and leads by telephone, email, post and face-to-face meetings
  • Closing new business deals by coordinating requirements, developing and negotiating contracts and integrating contract requirements with business operations
  • Working with current and lapsed clients to generate return business and increase levels of usage
  • Managing client relationships to maximise business and margin as well as minimising the opportunities for competitor penetration
  • Negotiating rates in line with pricing policy to maximise margin and optimise revenue from clients
  • Recording information accurately and consistently on our in-house CRM system
  • Conducting sales meetings and presentations to businesses across the UK (travel expenses payable)

The ideal BD & Sales Executive must;

  • Be driven by targets and winning new business
  • Be committed to upholding the company ethos and dedicated to our high standards
  • Possess strong IT skills
  • Have good verbal and written communicative skills including competencies in delivering presentations
  • Have strengths in administration and organisational skills
  • Ensure clear communication is maintained with customers at all times
  • Hold a minimum of 5 GCSE Level A-C inc. Maths & English
