Daytime, sociable hours: An exciting new opportunity for an Operations Manager to join a dynamic business at a time of rapid growth.

Our client is situated on between Preston and Lancaster and has experienced seven years of consecutive growth. The business owner is looking to take a step back, allowing an ambitious manager to take the business to the next level. The café/bistro is situated in a country estate attracting a large number of visitors with a wedding venue and glamping at its heart. The business is built upon its reputation of freshly prepared food, personal service and relaxed open – to – all atmosphere.

We are looking to recruit a hospitality professional to be responsible for managing all F&B operations and for delivering an excellent customer experience.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on individual, working on the floor with the team, actively monitoring the budget, control expenses and expanding the service offering.

As Operations Manager your role will include;

  • Organise and manage the daily operations of facilities
  • Focus on ensuring an excellent customer experience
  • Organise and coordinate operations to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Research and implement a budgetary management system for the Café bistro, allowing the business to be measured against its monthly and yearly targets.
  • Prepare weekly reports for analysis at weekly management meetings
  • Liaise with all key management staff to ensure the smooth running of operations daily
  • Work closely with the head chef and ensure that any changes to menus or pricing within the group are approved by the Group Directo

The ideal Operations Manager must;

  • A passion for food and a love of hospitality
  • A proven ability to manage the expectations of a business owner and expectations of the Head Chef
  • Experience of structuring a team and operations; ensuring staff are well trained and responsibility are clearly defined
  • Be commercially minded; focused and driven to motivate the team and achieve results
  • Strong admin skills to reconcile sales, expenditure and deliver quarterly reports on profitability
  • The ability to work closely with the team and the head chef as well as the other managers
  • Be hard working and flexible with a hands on, ‘can do’ attitude
