An opportunity not to be missed: a Fantastic job for a Chef looking for their first Sous Chef role. Training given and career progression whilst working in the high-quality business.

This Country Inn is an 18th Century Coaching Inn and is situated on the cobbled street in the market town of Hawes. The whole building has been sympathetically renovated to retain the atmosphere of a traditional Inn but with a fresh, contemporary twist.

There are five bespoke luxury bedrooms; an open plan bar with a welcoming open range, serves local & speciality ales as well having an interesting wine list. By day, you can come in for coffee, read the daily papers, relax with a pint of real ale or enjoy a good selection of home cooked food, which is freshly prepared throughout the day.

This Country Inn is looking for an experienced chef to join the team and become an integral part of their brigade of 4. This busy” foodie” pub prides itself on producing all in-house from the freshest local Yorkshire produce. The role will be very hands-on and you’ll need to have a real knowledge and passion for food.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • To be able to run all of the sections within the kitchen effectively and efficiently;
  • You will be responsible for running the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef;
  • Work closely with the Head Chef and deliver personal menus to a high standard;
  • Be able to monitor stock levels, GP and develop relationships with suppliers.

The ideal Sous Chef Chef will;

  • Experience as a Junior Sous Chef/Sous Chef in a similar environment;
  • Strong culinary knowledge across various cuisine types;
  • Able to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards;
  • Passionate, creative, well organised and have a ‘hands on’ approach.

A good team player will be needed as this is a family run business and a positive attitude is essential!

The Benefits:

  • Salary between £20-23,000; dependent on experience and qualification;
  • Accommodation can be provided (own room with shared facilities with one other);
  • 28 days holiday, working 5 days a week with a mixture of split and straight shifts;
  • Gratuities;
  • Meals on duty.

This position is full time with full flexibility required at weekends, early mornings and evenings. Shift patterns will be arranged on a rotational basis based on the commercial needs of the business.

This is a great opportunity to be part of something special whilst developing your culinary skills and techniques! Apply Today!
