A unique opportunity has arisen to work with an award winning team in this busy Café / Restaurant.

Located between Gisburn and Clitheroe this popular gourmet cafe serves top quality, dishes using the very best of local produce. The owners are passionate about providing their customers with a great experience in a relaxed and informal environment.

With the site becoming increasingly busy and plans for further development in the next 12 months, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience working across all areas of the kitchen. On a daily basis you’ll be supporting the Head Chef in a range of duties including food preparation, kitchen duties including ordering and ensuring food hygiene standards are met.

As a Sous Chef your role will include;

  • Assisting the delivery of the menu that is suitable while maintaining the standards of service set out by the Head Chef;
  • Taking full ownership of a section of the kitchen; working with a team of 4 chefs;
  • Making sure that your section and equipment are fully prepared before each service;
  • To be able to produce food to a high standard with strong presentation skills.

This position is full-time position working DAYTIME HOURS plus 2 evenings only per week.

Shift patterns will be arranged on a rotational basis based on the commercial needs of the business.

The ideal Sous Chef will have these essential attributes

  • Have a minimum of 2/3 years work experience as a Sous Chef in a reputable establishment;
  • Have ambition and drive to progress your career in a quality expanding pub company;
  • Demonstrate knowledge and ability in providing effective leadership in managing;
  • Be a team player with a strong work ethic with a professional eye for detail.
