A fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Chef looking to make their mark at this Highland Hotel who has a great reputation for their cuisine and hospitality!

This 3* Hotel is situated near the Highland village of Mallaig with spectacular views of The Isle of Skye, Rum and Eigg.

The team at the Hotel are dedicated and pride themselves in offering unrivalled hospitality and wholesome Scottish fayre.

The food is simple yet exquisite and focuses on fresh ingredients especially the local produce – seafood. There is a Terrace Restaurant, new for 2016, which will serve classic Scottish cuisine whilst the bar provides pub-style dishes and light fare is offered in the conservatory.

Now in his third consecutive year, the Head Chef is looking for an ambitious second Chef to help push the team forward. The successful chef will be enthusiastic about creating dishes using locally sourced ingredients whilst ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and presentation are developed.

As Sous Chef your duties and responsibilities include:

  • To be able to run all of the sections within the kitchen effectively and efficiently
  • You will be responsible for running the kitchen in the absence of the head chef & ensure all systems & standards are adhered to at all times.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef and deliver personal menus to a high standard
  • Be able to monitor stock levels, GP and develop relationships with suppliers

As a Sous Chef the essential job requirements include:

  • Experience as a Sous Chef in a similar environment
  • Excellent communication skills, with desire and ability to train others
  • Team player and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Strong culinary knowledge across various cuisine types

Talented but experienced Junior Sous will also be considered for this role
