Based in Leicester, this is a leading conference and events venue offering function space for 10 – 150 delegates, a fine dining restaurant and a150 bedroom hotel. Located between M1 and M69 this is in easy reach of Leicester and Birmingham.

This is an ideal position for a Sous Chef looking to develop his/her skills and work with professional chefs whilst enjoying a work life balance. This is a hands-on role working Monday- Friday, with occasional weekends depending on the commercial needs of the business, based on a 45 hour working week.

As Sous Chef your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • This is a hand-on role and you must work closely with the Head Chef to deliver high quality dishes across both restaurant and functions
  • To ensure the presentation and preparation of dishes, made from locally sourced produce, is to the highest quality set by company standards
  • The ordering of produce, help with stock take and rotation of stock
  • Responsibility for the development of junior staff through nurturing and training

The ideal Sous Chef will:

  • Be a proven Sous Chef will 2/3 years experience in a similar environment e.g. restaurant/hotel or contract catering
  • Have experience in catering for high volume covers with knowledge in fine dining
  • Proven chef and people management experience
  • Able to work in a pressured environment and produce meals based on implemented menus
  • Be flexible, innovative and be able to work as part of a team
