Based in Morecambe, Lancashire our client has under gone a huge renovation with three dining areas within the pub, a generous garden and 7 en-suite bedrooms. The pub area itself has a capacity of 70+ with opportunities for growth; it will be a popular venue for locals, weekend guests, private functions and events.

The Sous Chef will deputise in the absence of the Head Chef, share responsibility of ordering and stock control as well as inspire and develop team members.

All fresh produce served in excellent informal surroundings and someone who can work well with the owners and team to develop, sustain and generate new ideas and menus.

As Sous Chef your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in running the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence ensuring standards are maintained
  • Be involved in creating exciting new menus, using your ideas and the best of local produce
  • Supervise service ensuring presentation of food is compliant with company standards.
  • Building relationships with suppliers, supervising the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef
  • Delivering and encouraging training of the kitchen brigade and their future development.

As Sous Chef you will:

  • Be a ‘hands on’ Chef who is used to managing a similar kitchen for a minimum of 2 years i.e. within restaurant, gastro pub
  • Be able to provide excellent references from passed/current employers and want go the extra mile to take pride in all you produce with the team.
  • Should possess a ‘Can do’ attitude with an emphasis on high quality and consistency
  • Have a great understanding of the seasons and utilise the best ingredients
