An experienced Single Handed Head Chef is required to manage the kitchen at this country pub with rooms.

This small family run pub is the newest addition to the group of three and is affiliated to Monty’s Brewery, a highly successful Brewery based on the Shropshire/Powys border.

You will be in charge of everything relating to the kitchen, from food safety and hygiene to developing your own recipes and menus with Monty’s beers in mind.

The role will be very hands-on and you’ll need to have a real knowledge and passion for food. All food is freshly prepared on site, using locally sourced produce.

Main responsibilities of a Single Handed Head Chef

  • Menu development, preparation, planning and costing, in line with company standards.
  • Managing, training and development of future personnel as the business expands.
  • Preparation and presentation of all dishes.
  • Control of stock, ordering and storage of food supplies.
  • Effective Kitchen management, maintaining a high standard of appearance, cleanliness and safe working practices within the kitchen.
  • To represent the Company in a loyal, professional and knowledgeable manner at all times.

Essential Head Chef Qualities

  • This is a busy operation, serving food all day. You will be working alongside kitchen assistants however you will be sole Chef.
  • Experience of managing a country pub kitchen or similar environment.
  • You must be prepared to work hard, keeping calm under pressure, while producing top quality consistent food.
  • Good communication skills and ability to communicate at all levels
  • Flexible approach to the role
