Based in Morecambe, Lancashire, this Boutique Hotel is a Grade II Georgian listed building which is undergoing huge renovation. With 7 en-suite bedrooms, three dining areas and generous garden this will be a busy site. The pub area itself has a capacity of 70+ with opportunities for growth; it will be a popular venue for locals, weekend guests and private functions and events.

This position would be suited to an ambitious, creative and passionate Permanent Head Chef looking to be part of a new venture. As a successful candidate you will be able to raise your professional profile with autonomy over the kitchen and menu development; where the emphasis where you be working in a brand new state of the art kitchen working with locally sourced produce, served at a very high standard.

As a Permanent Head Chef your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Being a ‘hands on’ Chef, working closely with the Management team to ensure the ‘Opening of this new venture is successful
  • Producing menus which demonstrate flair, imagination and a commercial awareness that meets customer needs and preferences
  • Utilising local suppliers using high quality ingredient for all components of the Menu
  • Ensures that high standards of cleanliness and health and safety are maintained throughout the Kitchen
  • Responsibility for GP margin and maximise efficiency in line with the budget.

As a Permanent Head Chef you will:

  • Be a ‘hands on’ Chef who is used to managing a similar kitchen for a minimum of 2 years i.e. within hotel and restaurant
  • Have excellent, innovative culinary and presentation skills
  • Have excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Have a good financial understanding with the ability to work to budget and cost accurately
  • Be a creative chef who designs menus that entice both guests and external customers
