A winner of late rooms.com ‘Simply the Guest awards’ the Mill offers 16 lovely appointed bedrooms, a bar that is stocked with famous beers & wines from around the world, regularly offering guests ales served from the pump all supplied by The Bowland Brewery and a menu using local and seasonal produce. The kitchen use well renowned Local suppliers such as Neve’s of Fleetwood, Honeywell farm shop and Walling’s of Cockerham ensuring the highest quality produce.

This Heritage Inn is privately owned and also has a sister hotel and restaurant on the Fylde coast. The Head chef and his team pride themselves on producing a menu using fresh local, seasonal produce. Their aim is to offer traditional seasonal Lancashire dishes with a unique twist, featuring in Taste Lancashire.

This privately owned hotel are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Sous chef who will help contribute to the continued growth of the business.

Duties;

  • Ensure the kitchen is complying with current health and hygiene regulations- Maintaining a ‘scores on the doors’ food hygiene rating of 5/5
  • Ensure the smooth running of the kitchen in the head chef’s absence
  • Assist the head chef in ordering /stock take and rotas
  • Supervising junior members of the team
  • Contribute to new menu development

The Successful Sous chef will;

  • Be able to work in a small experienced brigade of 5
  • Be customer focused
  • Be able to work under pressure
  • Work 5/7 days this will include split shifts, evenings, weekends and bank holidays
  • Have their own whites, knives and safety shoes

This Sous chef position is a live out role therefore the ideal candidate would need their own transport to commute daily.
