In this period of expansion, the nursery would consider employing multiple candidates at this time – subsequently there are opportunities available for candidates at varying stages of their career and with a range of differing experiences. Part-time working is also available.

The Nursery work with the key-person system to enhance children’s learning and development, using online learning journals. Ideally, successful candidates will hold an NVQ Level 2/3 and have a good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and have some experience in a childcare setting.

As a Nursery Nurse your role will include;

  • To provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children placed in the Nursery
  • Providing ongoing support to other staff within the Nursery
  • Devising and operating a programme of activities suitable to the age range of children attending the Nursery, in union with the Nursery Manager
  • Preparing children’s records and establishing reviews for parents, in union with the Nursery Manager
  • Foresee the needs of special needs children and give physical, emotional, intellectual guidance as appropriate
  • Work with and support parents and other family members
  • Undertake certain domestic jobs within the Nursery, e.g. preparation of snack meals, and cleansing of equipment
  • Work alongside the Manager and staff team to ensure that the philosophy behind the Nursery is fulfilled

The ideal candidate must;

  • Hold a Level 2 or 3 or equivalent in childcare, learning and development or be a graduate in early years studies
  • Possess a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Use their own initiative and have the ability to problem solve
