Description:

Due to continued business growth, Cummins Mellor are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Procurement Administrator to join a Procurement Team in Blackburn.

This company is a large manufacturing business; they export worldwide and their success has been built on the skills of valued people and wish to continue to recruit talented people to join the team.

The role includes processing purchase orders, document storage, data integrity analysis and cleansing. A large part of the job focus is on suppliers; supporting them through the purchasing process and handling day-to-day enquiries.

The successful candidate will be supporting a small department; where you will be expected to represent the company’s brand effectively, advise clients on behalf of the company and manage and maintain client relationships.

As a Purchasing Administrator your role will include;

  • Responsibility for companies purchasing activities, in line with policies and procedures
  • Responsibility for stock control, including minimum stock levels and ensuring no stock outs and replacements as and when required
  • Overseeing all goods in, checking quality and compliance to purchase order
  • Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers to ensure best service.
  • Responsibility for company logistics, including arranging the transport in line with customer requirements, arranging storage of manufactured products for future delivery
  • Liaise with the Account department to ensure payments to enable accurate and timely payment to suppliers along with dispatched goods to be invoiced to the customer

 

 


The ideal Purchasing Administrator must;

  • Strong communication skills to deal with both internal and external suppliers
  • Ability to develop a good understanding of the companies’ procurement procedure and contractual flow down
  • Ability to manage own time, organise and prioritise tasks to ensure all relevant deadlines are met
  • Good attention to detail and accurate data entry
  • Be a self starter, an excellent telephone manner and interpersonal skills
