This Blackburn-based charity seek a driven, detail orientated individual to join their warm, vibrant and busy team. As the Office Manager you will be responsible for supporting the entire team by controlling financial and administrative processes ensuring high standards are maintained and compliance remains an ongoing priority.

A key aspect of the role is providing a lynch pin for the Board and Senior Management, supporting them to ensure that financial, administrative and HR processes are compliant. The successful applicant will be able to set clear expectations, hold people to account and be self-motivated and managing. You will benefit from the support of a strong and stable senior team who will invest in your personal development and help develop your understanding of the charity.

Working hours are 37.5 per week to be worked within core office hours of 8.30am to 6pm. Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to attend quarterly board meetings which are held in the evening. Open 7 days a week, the charity often holds events and fundraisers in the evenings and at weekends which are of course non-mandatory, but you will likely wish to get involved.

As an Office Manager your role will include;


  • Overseeing financial processes including Bank Reconciliation, Invoicing, Payroll, Expenses & Petty cash
  • Managing an accounts administrator to ensure the smooth facilitation of finance functions
  • Communicating with an external Shared Services Finance Manager to maintain accurate financial reporting


  • Coordinating board meeting documentation, taking minutes and facilitating communications for the board
  • Maintaining data protection and health & safety compliance

HR administration-

  • Compliance checks including right to work checks and DBS facilitation
  • Producing new starter paperwork including contracts and offer letters
  • Producing changes to employment letters and documentation
  • Working alongside the CEO to facilitate all HR processes


  • Liaising with external providers to maintain IT technologies within the charity
  • Facilitating the generation of new email accounts
  • Supporting the team with technical issues with regards Google Apps

The ideal Office Manager must;

  • Be clear-thinking, financially-minded and articulate
  • Be highly IT literate, confident with all aspects of Sage 50 – experience utilising Salesforce would be advantageous
  • Have strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Be highly accurate, compliant and possess impeccable attention to detail
