Excellent opportunity for an Operations Administrator to take on a permanent role at the UK Distribution Centre for a European Manufacturing Company. Cummins Mellor are recruiting an operations administrator for a manufacturer based in Nelson.

As an Operations Administrator your role will include;

• Responding efficiently to customer enquiries – providing them with quotations and supportive information to aid their decision making.

• Receiving and processing customer orders in accordance with their demands and in line with the operating procedures set out within the business.

• Support the Operations Manager on all purchases necessary for the effective running of the business.

• Relief cover for the Operations Manager – covering all tasks that are normally progressed – and will still require progressing in their absence.

• Liaising with Warehouse staff and external freight services to ensure that orders are packed, shipped and delivered to agreed timescales – and to specific requirements.

• Pro-actively seeking and stimulating new sales using various marketing/ advertising techniques as determined by the core team.

• Using computer based systems to support the day to day functioning of the company – ensuring of accuracy and consistency of all actions to avoid subsequent failures within any area of the business.

• Supporting all quality issues, identifying root cause, proposing solutions and implementing recovery plan.

• Maintaining customer and supplier files – ensuring they are systemized to aid future referrals/ updates.

• Maintaining Sales Ledger, generation and issuing of invoices/ statements, credit control and debt recovery/ management.

• Maintaining Purchase Ledger including invoices, credits, payments and adjustments.

• Maintaining Nominal Ledger including specific month-end financial procedures

• General accounting administration necessary for all business reporting.

The ideal operations administrator must;

• Ideally have some experience using Sage 200.

• Be comfortable working in a small, diligent staff team.

• Preferably have experience within an engineering related manufacturing or distribution company.

• Bring a number of the key requirements to the role, primarily revolving around customer service.

• Experience using SAGE, Microsoft Office & Product Training (please note this may also involve site visits to the company’s’ head office as well as customers).

• Be confident working in a fast paced environment.

• Be able to multitask and handle a shared workload.
