The Cummins Mellor family of businesses have a fantastic opportunity for a degree level apprentice to join our team. We have 3 different businesses as well as a shared service centre (Finance and HR) allowing you to gain experience in all areas of business before deciding which area you want to specialise in.

We have devised a unique programme which complements your qualification allowing you to accelerate your career so by the time your degree is complete you will be miles ahead of your peers.

Who are the Cummins Mellor family of businesses and how is the apprenticeship structured?

We are made up of 3 separate businesses:CMR collage

Cummins Mellor – a recruitment business specialising in placing exceptional candidates in the best Lancashire businesses

CJUK – a national specialist hospitality recruitment business working with the highest calibre candidates and businesses across the UK

Personnel Checks – a national background screening business

Your first year will be spent on rotation between the 3 businesses and their shared service centre meaning you will gain 3 months experience in each team.

Following this you will choose which area of the business you would like to specialise in for the rest of your apprenticeship.

You will be working closely with the business leaders who will act as your mentors throughout the programme.

What qualification will I gain?

Business Management BA (Hons) level 6 to be completed at Uclan (Burnley or Preston), Blackburn or Manchester Met.

The Degree Apprenticeship is normally a 4 year programme with one day release at university per week during term time.

Desired qualifications needed in order to apply

At least 9 GCSEs grade A*-C and ideally a level 3, BTEC or A level qualification.

You don’t need any experience in business, just a desire to learn, progress and succeed. We are looking for the future leaders of our business so we want ambitious applicants who are ready to work hard and take every opportunity presented to you.

Start Date

September 2020

Working hours

Full time Monday – Friday with one day release at university

What next?

The closing date for applications is 8th May 2020.

If you are successful in the first stage you will receive call for a short telephone interview with one of our directors to get to know you a little better and give you the opportunity to ask any questions. (This could be any time between your application submission and May 2020)

After the telephone interview if you are shortlisted you will be invited to a group interview day at our office at the end of May.

Following this you, if you are successful you will be invited for an individual final interview.

The job offer will be made by June / July 2020 for a start date in September 2020.
