Cummins Mellor have a fantastic opportunity within an award winning manufacturing business who operate nationally and are based in East Lancashire.

Established in 2012, our client has gone from strength to strength and have become a multi award winning manufacturer in Lancashire. The forecast growth of the business is due to double over the next 2-3 years as a result our client is looking to appoint an experienced purchase ledger to work within the Accounts department of the fast-moving team.

Reporting directly the Financial Controller you will have proven Accounts experience and be able to commit to a permanent contract.

As a Purchase Ledger your role will include;

  • Process invoices, reconciling delivery notes to invoices received and purchase orders
  • Set up new supplier accounts and maintain existing account details within the purchase ledger
  • Assist in the preparation of purchase summaries
  • Process business expense returns
  • Cashbook and petty cash cheques
  • Processing BACS payments and preparing cheques
  • Daily banking – comprising of received cheques, cash
  • Reviewing the online banking system on a daily basis and making relevant postings to sales ledger, purchase ledger and general ledger
  • Responsible for the reconciliation of all bank accounts daily/monthly
  • Quarterly VAT reporting
  • Raising sales invoices and credit notes

The ideal Reservations Manager must;

  • Have previous work experience within a high volume, Accounts and Finance environment
  • Great interpersonal and communications skills
  • Good team working skills
  • The ability to work to monthly deadlines
  • An aptitude for IT – competent of software Excel, Sage 50 and BACS
