An excellent opportunity has opened up for a Purchase Ledger to work within a specialist builder’s merchant located in Blackburn.

With over eight decades of expertise in their area you will be working in a well-established organisation with a strong reputation in their field.

As a Purchase Ledger your role will include;

  • Working within an accounts team of 3 people
  • Keeping the purchase ledger accounts up to date for invoices, credits, payments and adjustments
  • Posting all new invoices and credits received as unauthorized, and matching them up to a delivery note if necessary
  • Reconciling incoming statements to the ledger
  • Sales ledger, data entry
  • Closing off Purchase Ledger no later than stated on management accounts timetables
  • Matching cash to invoices
  • Providing information to management
  • Filing invoices, credit notes etc.

The ideal Purchase Ledger must;

  • Have experience working in an accounts role
  • Have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s graded A-C including Maths & English
  • Be willing to work full time hours – Some flexibility available.
  • Be skilled in the use of Microsoft Excel
  • Have good communication skills both face to face and via telephone
  • Be comfortable working within a close knit, diligent and busy accountancy team
