They would be encouraged to offer their ideas on implementation plans to project the culture of the Company to the marketplaces we specialise in.

Working closely with the Head of Marketing, this role would be ideal for an individual excited by challenges, open to continuous change and willing to push the capabilities of technology to express their own creativity.


The ideal Design Manager would:

  • Be educated to degree level with a recognised marketing/design qualification
  • Have the ability to see commercial opportunities and have the initiative, drive, energy and enthusiasm to take advantage of them
  • Have a sound knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Premier video editing software
  • Have produced video content to businesses previously for social media and websites
  • Be a creative thinker who understands brands and consumers and is able to translate consumer insight into product innovation and work with internal teams to deliver projects
  • Be able to create personas and send targeted, relevant marketing material across the 3 divisions of the Cummins Mellor Group
  • Be well versed in the latest up-coming technology to drive marketing messages;
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to draw effective conclusions
  • Be confident to manage their own schedule and achieve self-set targets


Responsibilities would include:

  • Overall direction and accountability for the presentation, tone and imagery of the Company Brand to our customers, clearly communicating the Company’s passion for people and safeguarding society;
  • Researching and ensuring the Company remains at the forefront of design and communication technology;
  • Determining the need to use external contractors to work alongside the Company to enhance our market image;
  • Negotiating competitive contracts and establishing strong working relations with key customer personnel, such as their buying, merchandising, communication and marketing teams to advance our brand activities;
  • Initiating and presenting new design proposals for each division;
  • Supervising and managing the production and distribution of design tasks within the team;
  • Ensuring projects are completed to schedule while developing high quality, accurate and precise graphics to communicate our Brand across each market sector;
  • Participating in the departmental strategic planning sessions and developing a comprehensive scope-of-work documenting deliverables for each unique brand;
  • Identifying new POS and promotional ideas to improve brand presence and developing the graphics and costings associated with implementing these;
  • Researching and providing continual input to optimise design, developing a Design Delivery schedule with each Head of Department;
  • Developing and maintain a running sheet on all internal and external design and costs associated with each, keeping reference to the Marketing Department Budget.
  • Analysing and providing detailed reporting on industry trends and campaign statistics, including video design in each industry, confidently offering continual improvement advice and developing strategies based on this engagement analysis;
  • Auditing and evaluating existing campaigns and delivering feedback on their effectiveness, offering suggestions for improvement or alternative means of communication;
  • Managing, developing and maintaining a record of original artwork files;
  • Managing, overseeing and co-ordinating the development and distribution of communications such as e-shots, infographics and video marketing to enhance and demonstrate the Company’s multi-disciplinary divisions;
