One of Europe’s largest and fastest growing technology distribution and specialist service providers seek a Communications Officer to fulfil a temporary assignment.The role will be to provide companywide internal communications including PR and Marketing activities.

Cummins Mellor are recruiting a Temporary Communications Officer for an established and successful technology business in East Lancashire.

The role of Communications Officer will involve the generation & coordination of all internal communications. The successful candidate will ensure that they explore all relevant digital and social methods of communication ensuring that the business communicates regularly and that the channels they use are effective and well received.

As a Communications Officer you will be required to;

  • Create and deliver an effective internal communications plan supporting business as usual and project initiatives
  • Deliver relevant and timely information to ensure we maintain engagement across the business
  • Write and edit stories, announcements and presentations to directly support business objectives and drive company vision
  • Manage a mix of internal communication channels ensuring content is relevant and updated in a timely manner
  • Ensure that communication by each channel is measured & effective
  • Continually look for new ways to communicate that are engaging and fun
  • Support the change programme to ensure that all internal events are designed and delivered to a high standard
  • As required, support additional organisational communications projects in the areas of Public Relations, Sustainability Communications and Brand Management
  • In addition to managing day to day and project internal communication you will have the opportunity to deliver the following projects
  • Coordinate an employee survey across all UK & European operations
  • Be a key member of a project team that delivers one communication portal capable of touching all staff across UK & Europe

The ideal Communications Officer must;

  • Be able to demonstrate a great understanding of how to communicate effectively with a diverse audience in the 21st Century
  • Demonstrate a drive to achieve, show enthusiasm for their work and commitment to delivery excellence.
  • Be an action orientated and extroverted individual who is not afraid to jump in at the deep end
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate potentially complex information
  • Have the ability to write engaging copy
  • Possess strong presentation and stakeholder management skills and have the ability to work confidently with colleagues to recommend communications approaches
  • Have creativity and energy to support business transformation initiatives
  • Display good planning and time management skills with the ability to use initiative and demonstrate a strong sense of ownership; successfully meeting tight deadlines under pressure

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone aspiring for a role in PR to work in an established business. Although the role is initially temporary, on conclusion of the initial assignment there is scope for a further contract for the right candidate.
