Studies: NVQ Level 2 & 3 in Business Administration

Anya’s Story

Anya studied for her A levels at college but decided university wasn’t for her and wanted to enter into work. She is a Recruitment Consultant in our Chef Recruitment division CJUK. Recently, Anya has gained more experience in the business by spending half of her week in our DBS Checking division.

 What made you decide to enter into an apprenticeship?
“I didn’t want to go to university but I still wanted to gain an extra qualification so the ideal route for me was an apprenticeship.

 What did you enjoy the most about being a Cummins Mellor Apprentice?
“The best thing about being an apprentice is learning new things on a daily basis and also improving on my knowledge of how a business works ,  I’m beginning to think about things in a much more commercial way.”

 Are there any disadvantages to being an Apprentice?
“No, I don’t think there is as I’m always learning and developing my skills.

 What advice would you give to somebody considering an apprenticeship?
“Definitely go for it! It’s a great way to earn money, learn and work!”

 How did you hear about Apprenticeships?
“Through word of mouth.”

 Do you know anybody else who was an Apprentice at the same time as you? How did  their experience differ to yours?
 “Yes, he didn’t get as much opportunity to develop as I have.”
