We (Richard and I) started Cummins Mellor Recruitment over 23 years ago from our back bedroom in Accrington Lancashire. A very proud day as Richard had always wanted to work for himself and on 5th February 1990 this dream was realised.
Like most of our senior management team, I started as a recruitment consultant having done almost every job in the company from Credit Controller to Company Secretary. Our profits were non-existent for the first 5 years and in 2011 we made £350,000!
Many things have changed, but then again, some things haven’t: an organic growth strategy, maintaining best practice standards as well as a passion for recruitment, more disciplines, diversifying to provide CRB checks and of course promotion from within.
The future looks very promising indeed with all the signs pointing towards a buoyant market and with Cummins Mellor poised to achieve even greater levels of success. After all, we have everything on our side…a strong brand, technological resources, the most thorough training and development strategy – and, of course, the best people. However, we can only realise our potential if sufficient numbers of high calibre, goal orientated individuals join us and take advantage of the opportunities available.
As ambassadors for the brand, our consultants are our most precious asset. Trained to be the best in the business, you’ll have sovereignty over your own unique territory to nurture and develop as you see fit.
